About: Renee Sands

Retired from real life because of a rare genetic defect called Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. I keep busy by writing, drawing, painting, knitting, gardening, reading, cooking, birding, fishing, and generally fiddling around. I don’t do ‘bored’ well.
I spend most of my time in a wheelchair, which makes the above listed activities interesting to accomplish. I’ve learned over the last decade how to accomplish many things from this chair. You could accurately describe me as ‘stubborn’.
I love life and living it, each day could be my last and I respect that. It’s a bit more of an ‘actual’ for me because of the EDS, that changes ones’ perspective on things. I believe in love, kindness, compassion, and caring for others. EDS has taken a lot from me, but it has taught me a lot also.
I’ve been with and married to a fabulous man for 26 years now. We have 3 grown children, 3 grandchildren and another on the way. We live in a home we designed and built, to accommodate my disability, and it has the amazing view that is in the photo above. I’m waiting for him to retire also, just a few more years now!
